Dell just did something weird: it has rebranded two affordable ZTE Android handsets and launched them in India as Dell devices.

Said handsets are the ZTE Racer and the ZTE Blade (also know as Orange San Francisco), which are marketed as Dell XCD28 and Dell XCD35, respectively, in India.

Of course, it’s not uncommon for big companies to sell hardware made by others, but both these handsets are already available outside India, where they have nothing to do with Dell’s brand.

Anyway. The Dell XCD28 (pictured below) is available as of now in India and costs 10,990 INR (about $248). It features Android 2.1, a 2.8 inch QVGA display, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, 3.2MP camera, and MicroSD card support.

The XCD35 will be launched “by December” for 16,990 INR (about $384). It will come with Android 2.1, 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.2MP autofocus camera, and MicroSD card support.
